Launching Portal– Meta enters the chat.
Portal (Meta’s first piece of hardware) connects people through video chat. For the launch, we created an immersive IRL event for the holidays that we called, The Get Together.
The experience felt like a magical little neighborhood, so as you left a cozy suburban living room, you suddenly found yourself in an industrial Brooklyn loft.
Each room featured a Portal device. Live actors portraying characters connected with guests and helped show off the features in a highly naturalistic way.
In order to generate buzz, we partnered with several notable influencers, including Antoni Porowski of Queer Eye. He brought his culinary talents to the event by creating his signature hot cocoa and spending time with Grandma and guests for the day.
We also collaborated with Buck Studios to create a promotional film that featured the characters and moments guests would encounter at The Get Together.
